HELLTH post-jam 1.3 version is out!


Changelog

  • bugfixes for several annoying crashes
  • added achievement for completing the game without equipping more than 2 weapons (no octopus mode)
  • added new capabilities for mage enemies, allowing them to curse the player
  • UI improvements: clear indication of where your focus is (golden line under health bar), as well as where enchantments will land if you consume bones (you can affect this by moving the focus left)
  • visible turn counter and depth indicator (useful for speedruns)

I'm stopping work on HELLTH for a while now but will return with a couple more updates in the upcoming months, adding the following:

  • a magic system that binds combinations of stats and direction ("good"/"bad") to fields of magic - allowing afflicted characters to use their afflictions against the enchanters who cursed them.
  • scrolls with lore and mechanical tidbits, giving more info on what some of the things that happen are (what affects damage, how sight range is calculated, why some builds see colors, when exactly you get to see enemy stats, ...)
  • multi-part action simulations (for example, throwing would actually happen in time instead of just instantly landing), and agent systems (fire spreading, etc.)
  • special two phase boss fight for the Healer
